Mobile device management (MDM) start-up vendor AppTec has announced the launch of its Enterprise Mobile Manager technology with a small business offering of 25 free licences.

With a full MDM offered up to 100,000 users, CEO Sahin Tugcular told SC Magazine that this was “ideal news for the SMB” and that it was offering 25 free licences for those small- and medium-sized business users.

AppTec said it contains an operable management console to manage and configure mobile devices from a central location, as well as enables the central installation of company applications onto smartphones. Features include white and blacklisting of applications and protection of data on lost devices and against mobile malware.

The management tool is currently offered as a virtual appliance or in the cloud and support is offered for Android and iOS. Tugcular told SC Magazine that it can be used for free as a virtual appliance in a user´s own infrastructure, or in the AppTec cloud.

He said: “For Android it´s only client-based. For iOS it´s certificate and client-based as we need the client for GPS data.”

The virtual appliance is available to download from June.
